Community Centres

The Community Centre Project launched a logo contest in February of 2004 with the motivation of finding a symbol that would be meaningful, creative and allow Brandonites an opportunity to participate in their centres’ development. A unified logo for all centers provides a collective identity and a sense of community pride.

The successful designer is a Senior 3 Crocus Plains High School student, Alyssa Yeo. As her entry states, “This logo is representative of how strong our community base is for nurturing the growth of our community centers. The four “C’s” stand for the Central Council of Community Centres; they are in the shape of a pot to symbolize the earthly support of our community. The people are what grow from this solid foundation. They reach for the top and spread the growth throughout the community, making it a better place to live.”
